Andrew Young autographed a 5 x 8" black-and-white portrait photograph, inscribing "Peace!" above his signature along the lower margin. Accompanied by a printed compliments slip bearing the Great Seal of the United States and the wording, "With the Compliments of the Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations."

Andrew Young (b. 1932) is an American civil rights leader, diplomat, minister, and politician who workedclosely with Martin Luther King Jr. through the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He represented Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1973 until 1977, when he resigned to become U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Young later served two terms as mayor of Atlanta from 1982 to 1990.
