Postmarked May 31, 1963, the cover was issued as part of the 1963 1-Cent Coil Stamp Series. Burger has personally signed "Warren E. Burger" in blue ink across the right portion of the envelope.

The cover features an attractive ArtCraft cachet depicting President Andrew Jackson, with the original mailing address of collector John H. Weastell of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
