An exceptional archive documenting the early history and competition career of Ferrari 365 GTB/4 chassis 14141 through the records of Luigi Chinetti Motors and the North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.).
The collection is centred around the original Ferrari factory invoices issued in June 1971, recording the sale of the car by Ferrari S.p.A. to Luigi Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, Connecticut, together with the accompanying factory specification detailing its original configuration in Azzurro Dino with black interior and factory-fitted air conditioning and Voxson radio. Accompanying these are the original U.S. Customs export documentation, official FIA and ACCUS correspondence relating to N.A.R.T.'s Le Mans campaign, Luigi Chinetti Motors shipping and receipt records for the car and its competition equipment, contemporary N.A.R.T. promotional material, a period newspaper feature covering the team's participation at Le Mans, and working Competition Daytona Data sheets recording the chassis' ownership, race entries, technical development and later historical research. Preserved together, these documents provide an unusually complete documentary record of a Daytona that progressed from factory delivery to international competition under Luigi Chinetti's stewardship, offering a fascinating insight into the relationship between Maranello, Ferrari's American importer and one of the marque's most celebrated private racing organisations.
