An exceptional archive comprising seven original legal and notarial files documenting the purchase of the premises of Officina Riparazioni Carrozzerie Scaglietti & C. at Viale Monte Kosica 66, Modena, executed in 1954.
Prepared by Modena notary Dr. Giuliano Cuoghi, the archive consists of seven orange paper files, each retaining its original printed wrapper and containing the purchase deed recording the acquisition by Officina Riparazioni Carrozzerie Scaglietti & C., represented by partners Sergio Scaglietti, Lino Sala and Francesco Marchesi, from Dr. Paolo and Rag. Mario Angiolini, together with associated conveyancing documentation, certified notarial copies, land registry (Conservatoria dei Registri Immobiliari) transcriptions, and earlier title documentation relating to the property, including a 1951 deed establishing reciprocal property easements (servitù) affecting the site.
The documents identify the company, its partners and the property itself, recording the legal acquisition of the Monte Kosica works during the formative years of Scaglietti's close relationship with Ferrari. It was from these premises that Carrozzeria Scaglietti would go on to build the bodies for many of Ferrari's most celebrated competition and road cars of the 1950s and 1960s.
