From Chinetti's archive comes this substantial file of documentation relating to Luigi Chinetti and the North American Racing Team’s entries for the 39th Grand Prix d’Endurance - Les 24 Heures du Mans, held 12–13 June 1971. This file details the preparation and scrutineering process for four Ferrari entries run by N.A.R.T. and includes rare homologation documents, correspondence from the A.C.O., and official entry lists.
Among the highlights are four letters from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest confirming vehicle admittance, issued to Luigi Chinetti Motors, Greenwich, Connecticut, and naming each car, engine capacity, and designated competition number: Ferrari 512 M, chassis 1020 (car no. 11) Ferrari 512 M, chassis 1028 (car no. 14) Ferrari 365 GTB/4, chassis 12467 (car no. 58) Ferrari 312 P, chassis 0872 (car no. 62). Also included are cylinder verification certificates issued by John V. Oliveau (ACCUS–FIA), spares parts lists, customs forms, as well as a typed factory note detailing technical modifications. Supplementing the documentation are numerous fantastic original photographs of chassis 12467, complete time sheets, a rare entrant's rule book for the 1971 event, technical inspection paperwork, and much more. A comprehensive and evocative file, capturing N.A.R.T.'s final works-backed campaign for the Ferrari 512 M at Le Mans.
