An original Carrozzeria Scaglietti invoice dated 30 June 1960, issued to Dott. Cesare Marchi of Florence, relating to supplementary work carried out on Ferrari chassis 1953 GT. The invoice records the supply of a pair of foam rubber and "Bemat" vinyl-lined luggage cases with elastic retaining straps, together with two double leather securing belts, specially produced for the car. The work totalled 18,036 lire, including stamp duty.
Factory invoices documenting the bespoke accessories supplied with individual Ferrari chassis are exceptionally uncommon. Rather than mechanical servicing or repair work, this document records the commissioning of purpose-made luggage, illustrating the highly personalised nature of Ferrari ownership during the period and Scaglietti's role in fulfilling clients' individual requirements.
Original carbon copy, hole-punched.
