A remarkable archive of original Ferrari employment and personnel documents belonging to Renzo Medici, one of Ferrari's longest-serving employees, documenting his final years with the company before retirement.
The archive comprises approximately 30 original documents dating between 1975 and 1979, including Ferrari payroll records, personnel correspondence, social security documentation, pension papers, official leave authorisations and employment statements. Together they provide an unusually complete record of the administrative life of a senior Ferrari employee during the 1970s. Among the contents are numerous original SEFAC-stamped employment and social security forms, salary and contribution records bearing Ferrari personnel stamps, internal payroll extracts, official communications from Ferrari's Personnel Department, a 1977 notice concerning Treasury Bond compensation payments, pension documentation issued following retirement, and an original Ferrari leave authorisation dated 9 November 1978, permitting Renzo Medici to leave the factory for one day's holiday.
Particularly significant is the original Italian National Social Security (INPS) pension certificate, complete with Medici's passport photograph, signatures and official municipal validation stamps. The archive also includes several Ferrari personnel records identifying Medici by name, together with documents recording his employment contributions during his final years at the factory.
Renzo Medici joined Ferrari in October 1947, remaining with the company for almost four decades before retiring in 1985. Rising to become Head of Parts Production in Reparto Corse, he worked alongside many of Ferrari's most important figures during the company's formative decades, including Enzo Ferrari and Mauro Forghieri. While engineering drawings and technical documents reveal the cars Ferrari built, these personal employment records offer a rare glimpse into the people behind them, illustrating the everyday administrative structure that supported Maranello's racing and road car production.
