Original Ferrari factory press release (Notiziario Ferrari) issued by SEFAC Automobili Ferrari on 7 April 1964, announcing the Scuderia's participation in the 13th Gran Premio di Siracusa. The release confirms that John Surtees and Lorenzo Bandini would drive Ferrari's Formula One entries, while also revealing that the new Ferrari 158 V8 would make its public debut during the official practice sessions at Syracuse. Accompanying the press release is an original Ferrari-issued black-and-white publicity photograph depicting the new Formula One car on circuit, together with a contemporary handwritten annotation to the reverse noting Surtees' first victory with the new machine at Syracuse in 1964.
An excellent piece of period Ferrari factory ephemera documenting the debut of the Ferrari 158—the car that would carry John Surtees to the 1964 Formula One World Championship—and illustrating the manner in which Ferrari's press office communicated important technical and sporting developments to the international media. Good condition.
