An unusually comprehensive original Ferrari Dino 246 toolkit, handbook and documentation set, retaining important chassis-specific material relating to Dino 246 GTS chassis 04126.
The documentation includes the original Dino warranty card, issued to Lowell S. Fixler of Highland Park, Illinois, identifying the car as a 246 GTS, chassis 04126, Spyder USA, together with the corresponding delivery record dated 1 December 1972 and stamped by Knauz Continental Autos, Inc. The warranty material also records Chinetti Garthwaite Import, Inc., reflecting the car’s original American distribution.
The accompanying literature includes the original brown Dino document wallet, operating, maintenance and service handbook, spare parts catalogue dated 7/1972, 1972 Ferrari/Dino dealer and service directory, supplementary instructions for USA-delivered cars, and a genuine Ferrari Dino 246 GT/GTS workshop manual. The literature is presented in very good condition throughout.
The tool equipment comprises the original textured brown vinyl tool roll containing open-ended spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, spark-plug wrench and other service tools; the yellow-painted Battaini jack with its original brown storage pouch; wheel chock; wheel brace; reproduction Continental fan belt labelled for the Ferrari Dino 246; AGIP chamois; and warning triangle in its moulded case. The toolkit displays signs of age and use consistent with period ownership.
Also included is a genuine Dino key fob.
A particularly complete and evocative assembly, distinguished by the survival of the original chassis-specific paperwork for Dino 246 GTS 04126. Bringing together the car’s books, tools, jack and associated accessories, it preserves an unusually tangible record of the equipment and documentation accompanying a USA-specification Dino 246 GTS in period.
