An exceptional archive documenting the early history of Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Competizione chassis 12547, one of the factory-built prototype Competition Daytonas produced for international GT racing.
The collection is centred around the Ferrari factory build sheets, including the assembly summary and detailed build specification completed at Maranello in May 1969, recording the car's major mechanical components. Accompanying these are the original Luigi Chinetti Motors sales invoice to first owner Professor Ennio Gherardi, Ferrari factory correspondence confirming the car was completed with lightweight aluminium coachwork before delivery to Chinetti, and later research tracing its competition career, ownership and restoration. Preserved together, these documents provide an unusually complete documentary record of one of Ferrari's most important competition models and offer a fascinating insight into the relationship between Maranello, Luigi Chinetti and Ferrari's North American racing programme.
