Issued in Modena as invoice no. 176/60, the document describes the unit as a “Ferrari engine, 250 Granturismo, complete – second-hand – 3000 c.c. 12 cylinders”, priced at Lit. 1,200,000. Packed in a single case marked S.F. 49, it was dispatched by air to F. English Ltd. of Poole Road, Bournemouth, care of H.M. Customs & Excise at London Airport.

The accompanying scan of the British customs receipt, dated 20 February 1960, records the importation of a Ferrari spare engine, no. 0796, and the payment of £600 in duty and purchase tax.

A particularly interesting piece of Ferrari factory documentation relating directly to 250 TR engine 0796 TR, recording its sale by Ferrari as a complete second-hand 3-litre V12 and subsequent importation into Britain through F. English Ltd before it became Maranello Concessionaires.
