Based in Cheshire, Juliet Stockton is a full-time contemporary artist known for her bold, colourful portraits celebrating pop culture, iconic personalities and the joy of being unapologetically yourself.
Her work is bursting with energy, nostalgia and personality, bringing familiar faces and much-loved characters to life through vibrant acrylics and expressive brushstrokes. Inspired by everything from music and film to fashion history, Juliet also draws on the rich tropical colours of her childhood growing up in Papua New Guinea, an influence that continues to shine through in her distinctive style.
Juliet's journey into art hasn't been a conventional one. Despite a lifelong love of drawing, she spent 25 years working in Human Resources before rediscovering her passion for creativity in her forties. Teaching herself to paint, she eventually took the leap in 2021 to leave her corporate career behind and become a full-time artist.
Since then, her original paintings and prints have reached collectors internationally, with her work featured by BBC Radio, Cheshire Life and The West Australian, as well as in Bloomsbury's Portraits for NHS Heroes.
One of the highlights of Juliet's career has been working with members of the original 1978 Grease cast. Her artwork has helped raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Foundation, and her tribute painting, Love and Light, was selected for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne.
Through collections such as Icons and Leading Ladies – Living Loud!, Juliet celebrates individuality, confidence and the stories behind the people we admire. There's often something more beneath the bright colours and playful references, exploring strength, vulnerability and the freedom of embracing who we really are.
Her paintings are uplifting, expressive and full of life, reminding us of the power of nostalgia, the importance of self-belief and the joy of living a little louder.
