Description
Title: Tatiana Cattin | ' Liminal' | Acrylic on Canvas | Original
LIMINAL is a deeply personal and emotive portrait exploring the space between who we have been and who we are becoming.
The painting captures a quiet moment of tenderness as a woman embraces herself, turning inward with a sense of care, vulnerability and acceptance. Rather than depicting a dramatic transformation, Tatiana Cattin focuses on the stillness that comes before it, that important pause when we allow ourselves the time and space to reconnect.
For Tatiana, Liminal represents the threshold between different stages of life. It's about learning to meet ourselves with kindness, acknowledging our emotions and finding the strength to move forward when we're ready.
Through her expressive approach to portraiture, Tatiana explores the relationship between our inner and outer worlds, creating work that feels both intimate and universally relatable.
Gentle yet powerful, Liminal is a beautiful reminder that growth doesn't always begin with a bold leap. Sometimes, it starts with a moment of self-acceptance.

Tatiana Cattin is a contemporary artist who grew up in Vitebsk, Belarus, a city closely connected to the artistic legacy of Marc Chagall, where she received her first formal training in art.
She later continued her studies in Saint Petersburg, earning a degree in Architecture from the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. After several years working as an architect in Switzerland, she decided to devote herself fully to contemporary painting. Today, she lives and works between Switzerland and Spain.
Tatiana's work grows out of personal experience and explores how easily we can lose touch with ourselves while navigating expectations and the many roles life asks us to play.
Through figurative painting, she explores moments of emotional awakening, when we begin to listen to ourselves again, trust our instincts and reconnect with parts of ourselves that may have been neglected or silenced.
Much of her work is rooted in the female experience, yet her practice extends beyond gender, reflecting a deeply human need to remain connected to our inner lives.
The body, gaze, gesture and colour form a visual language through which she explores memory, intimacy, tenderness and resilience. For Tatiana, the body is a space of lived experience, where emotions, memories and personal history remain.
