Title: Lorna Bent | DELABOR | Original | Charcoal On Fabriano Paper

Description: DELABOR is the second in Lorna Bent's series exploring time, transformation and the space between worlds.

There's a sense of both peace and uncertainty in the composition. Is she letting go, falling or simply allowing herself to be carried by something beyond her control?
Through this striking monochromatic work, Lorna explores the fleeting nature of time and our relationship with the things we cannot change. A thoughtful reminder that sometimes, despite our best efforts, all we can do is surrender to the moment.

Lorna Bent is a full-time contemporary artist whose work explores the more emotional, mysterious and sometimes darker sides of being human.
Her work is bold, atmospheric and deeply personal, often featuring surreal interpretations of the female face and figure. Through dramatic lighting and rich contrasts, Lorna creates striking images that explore everything from strength and seduction to vulnerability, identity and the emotions we don't always show to the world.
Much of her inspiration comes from her own life experiences, and she often uses herself as the model for her paintings. This gives her the freedom to tell her stories exactly as she wants to, creating work that feels both intimate and incredibly powerful.
There's also a wonderful sense of mystery running through her practice. Lorna frequently gives her pieces Latin titles, adding hidden meanings and inviting viewers to look a little closer at the stories behind each painting.
Lorna’s work is a celebration of the many sides of womanhood. The confident, the vulnerable, the complicated and everything in between. It's honest, expressive and unafraid to explore the things that often go unsaid.
