Description
This WWII-era Japanese naval officer’s military sword (Kai Gunto) is a beautifully preserved, near-perfect specimen of a late-war variant. Because it lacks a signed maker's name on the handle (mumei / unsigned), its identity is instead marked by a special naval anchor stamp, proving the blade was forged from specialized, anti-rust steel designed for harsh sea environments. The sword is exceptionally complete, featuring its original naval-style hilt (tsuka), the protective handguard (tsuba) with its matching metal washer spacers (seppas), and a sleek, black glossy wooden scabbard (lacquered saya). |||| MEASUREMENTS: Scabbard Length: Approx. 29 in. | Blade Length (Nagasa - guard to tip): Approx. 26 in. | Total Blade Length (Tip to tang heel): Approx. 35 in.*Sourced from a reputable and trustworthy private collection*
