From the Consignor This Lee-Enfield was made ay the Ishapore Arsenal in India in 1967. The right side butt socket is marked with: Ashoka emblem (4 lions, post-independence), RIFLE, 7.62mm, 2A1, R.F.I. (Rifle Factory Ishapore), 1967. Serial number on receiver, stock and nose cap is V5014. Stock is marked: S(broad arrow)A with 1 below it on right rear, A35, SA55, SA66D, U over p, TL331D, 32, rack paint markings and other small cartouches. Rear elevating sight marked: ICR 1559, R.F.I. Front sight blade base marked: N2, -C3. Additional markings on bolt components.
Rifle was in long term storage but has been cleaned of 99% of the cosmolene. Shiny bore, very good rifling, stock in good condition with no cracks, front & rear correct sling swivels, functional safety, correct cleaned removable magazine, aluminum buttplate with spring loaded door marked inside ICR 1339 and black finished metal. Everything cycles using dummy cartridges and appears to be in working order. Collectible but also nice shooter or hunter.
