King Edward VII autographed handwritten letter (ALS), signed "Albert Edward," on a mourning-bordered correspondence card bearing the royal crown and printed Marlborough House, S.W. letterhead. Written during his years as Prince of Wales, the undated letter is addressed to Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar, a fellow member of European royalty and an officer in the British Army.

In this informal personal invitation, the future king asks, "Will you dine with me at the Marlborough Club at 8 tonight," and concludes with the affectionate signature "Albert Edward."

An interesting example of private royal correspondence, reflecting the social life of the future monarch during his long tenure as Prince of Wales.

Accompanied by the original mourning-bordered transmission envelope, addressed in Edward's hand to His Highness Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar at 16 Portland Place, London.
