Title: Coloured Mezzotint by William Barnard George Morland – Morland’s Summer (1802)
Description: George Morland – Morland’s Summer (1802)
Coloured Mezzotint by William Barnard

A decorative early 19th-century coloured mezzotint titled Morland’s Summer, engraved by William Barnard (1774–1849) after the 1789 pastoral scene by George Morland (1763–1804). Published in August 1802 by Barnard at Fitzroy Square, London.

The composition features a resting shepherd and dog beside a stream, with a cow and two reclining sheep set within a woodland glade – a typical example of Morland’s sentimental rural genre scenes.

Mounted and set behind glass in what appears to be its original gilt gesso frame.
