A fine and highly decorative pair of German porcelain easel mirrors in the Dresden manner, dating to circa 1900.

Beautifully modelled as a true left and right pair, each oval mirror is surmounted by two winged cherubs supporting a floral garland, above richly decorated borders adorned with individually hand-modelled roses, forget-me-nots, carnations and blossoms, interspersed with jewelled enamel decoration and heightened throughout with hand-applied gilding.

The original bevelled mirror plates retain an attractive age-related foxed patina, complementing the character and authenticity of the pieces. Both retain their original black-painted wooden easel backs and hanging rings, allowing them to be displayed either freestanding or wall mounted.

The quality of the applied floral decoration and finely modelled cherub groups reflects the highly decorative porcelain produced by the Dresden decorating studios during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Presented in good antique condition with age-related foxing and silver loss to the original mirror plates, together with minor losses and wear to the applied flowers and gilding consistent with age.
