Northwestern Europe, Viking, ca. 8th to 11th century CE. Possibly the finest silver neck torque we have ever handled. Massive Viking silver ornament that would have fit only the largest of warriors. Heavy hammered six-sided silver tapering at each end stamped 74 times with a triangular form, each with 3 dots inside. This design is quite likely a special family mark that could not have been used by any other clan. A stunning torque! Size: 7" L x 8.25" W (17.8 cm x 21 cm), weighs 8.2 ounces (232 grams).
