ATLANTA – A Chinese Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) carved cinnabar lidded box sold for $81,250, an oil on canvas equestrian painting by John Frederick Herring (British, 1795-1865) realized $62,000, and golf legend Bobby Jones’s personal 1950s-era shag/range bag finished at $27,900 in Ahlers & Ogletree’s three-day Collector’s Dream Auction held Jan. 15-17. Lightner Museum’s spring exhibitions explore American Impressionism

AUGUSTINE, Fla. — This spring, the Lightner Museum celebrates the evocative, timeless beauty of late-19th and early 20th-century American art with two exhibitions of American Impressionist paintings. American Impressionism: Treasures from the Daywood Collection, features paintings from the acclaimed collection of the Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia. A companion exhibition, St. Augustine in a New Light: American Impressionism from the Collection of the Lightner Museum is curated from the Lightner’s own collection. The exhibitions will run from April 8, 2021-July 5, 2021.

Pop supergroup BTS donates video outfits to MusiCares charity auction

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – The pastel ensembles worn by global music phenomenon BTS in their “Dynamite” music video will headline Julien’s January 31 MusiCares© Charity Relief Auction, one week before the GRAMMY Awards© telecast. Band members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook generously donated the outfits, accessories and shoes to the auction. It is the first time the seven-member South Korean boy band has ever donated apparel to a charity auction. All profits will benefit individuals in the music industry whose lives have been devastated by COVID-19.
