LLANTRISANT, Wales – The Royal Mint, the official maker of UK coins, has unveiled a range of commemorative coins to celebrate the upcoming coronation, including a 50-pence and a £5 coin. The commemorative coronation coin range features a crowned effigy of King Charles III designed by artist and sculptor Martin Jennings – the first crowned effigy of the new British monarch to feature on a coin. The effigy of King Charles III for non-commemorative coins was unveiled following his accession late last year and in line with tradition, the king is shown not wearing regalia.

STOKE-ON-TRENT, England (AP) – With just five weeks before King Charles III’s coronation, a British manufacturer of fine bone china is busy making God Save The King commemorative plates and mugs for the historic occasion. Craftspeople at the Duchess China factory in the central England city of Stoke-on-Trent painted delicate gold edges on more teacups and saucers March 30 to make sure there are enough to meet the expected demand for royal souvenirs.

PHOENIX — The U. S. Postal Service unveiled its latest Forever stamps celebrating the Art of the Skateboard during a first-day-of-issue event held March 24 at the Desert West Skate Park. The dedication ceremony kicked off PHXAM 2023, an annual amateur skateboarding competition that attracts participants from around the globe. The event marked the official release of the stamps, which feature artistic skateboard decks with bold, vibrant designs that capture skateboarding’s excitement, diversity and rebellious attitude.

Major League Baseball announced before the season-opening games on March 30 that players making their first appearances will wear debut patches on their jerseys. The patch will appear on different places on a sleeve, depending on the team and any anniversary of sponsor patches.
