a horrible auction company, STAY AWAY, extremely non-responsive
A disgusting company, i have called so many times and left so many messages, I am at my wits end. Just a simple call back, they sent me a painting a full 11 inches shorter by over 20 inches less on the sides, which is a huge difference, was expecting a large painting as listed and its significantly shorter and smaller. I do not appreciate being ignored. These people have already recieved many bad reviews. I would choose another auction, DO NOT TRUST THIS AUCTION, THEY DONT CARE, extremely non-responsive, there "live chat" is **********, no one is on the other side, its a simple one sided messaging system.

** FRAUD ALERT ** FRAUD ALERT **
How is this company still able to operate under LiveAuctioneers? People, do yourselves a favor and read all the 1 Star reviews. They are accurate! Before bidding on my Tiffany-style lamp, I sent this company an email asking, specifically, where the lamp was made. They responded, explicitly, it was made in the USA. I receive the lamp and the first thing that jumps at me is a sticker on the lamp that states the lamp was made in CHINA! In other words, the company provided me false information which I used in making my decision. That is the very definition of fraud. They were very responsive when I sent an email asking where it was made, but as soon as I started sending them emails about it being made in China, all of the sudden, they aren't so responsive anymore, lol! Btw, they consign their "authentic" "one of a kind" Tiffany-style lamps from Chloe Lighting. Chloe Lighting has a storefront on Amazon, where they sell the same cheap made in China lamps for half the price you pay for here. Plus you don't have to pay the 25 % auction house fee. So do yourselves a favor and just buy from Amazon if you want a made in China Tiffany-style lamp. I'm relatively new to LiveAuctioneers, but in the short time I've used it, I've spent quite an amount from about a dozen auction companies. They were all, at the very least, decent. This is by far the worst one. Buyers Beware and Do Not bid on anything from this auction company!!

Incorrect Description
The item had been PhotoShopped as the item listed to have just "some loss to mirror silver"-most all of it was worn-the photograph shows a very clean mirror with no loss of silver.

I wish they did the shipping your at the shippers mercy you pay it or not.
Like I said above the shipping is difficult you go from one person to another until you find someone who will go get the object then ship it for you. IT'S VERY expensive to ship to you.

False Description of Items
The auction description was for a Mikimoto pearl necklace and broach. Nether item was made by Mikimoto. I bid on the basis they were authentic. After receipt of the items I contacted the auctioneer for an explanation. No response from the auctioneer. Bidders beware of deceptive practices by this auctioneer. Bid at your own risk. I overpaid for my items. Don’t you do the same!

Tear Sheets from a Book — not a real print
Items arrived bent. Also prints are not cut straight — looks cheaply and poorly cut with scissors from a book.

Reproduction not an antique/vintage
I bought a pair of cast iron shelving brackets advertised as antique/vintage. I first inquired about the item asking how old they were. Of course, I never received a response. I took a chance and purchased the items. I received the items and immediately recognized them to be counterfeits. They were spray painted to look old and the quality/craftsmanship was poor. The brackets are so poorly constructed, I’m unable to mount them because they will not set flat against the wall. This is the first item purchased through LiveAuctioneers that I’ve been dissatisfied with. I will never purchase another item through Connoisseur Auctions. Buyer beware.

AVOID at all costs, RIPOFF
I bid on a model of CSS Virginia that was described as museum quality, handmade by master craftsmen, high quality woods used in construction, etc, etc. What I received was a plastic model shipped from China, judging by the packing. I don't know what museum they have been going to, but what I received was a plastic model that I would not give $25.00 for at Walmart. The only wood was the base it was on. The description expected $320-$720. Hammer price was $260 + 20 % + $48.76 shipping for a total of $376. I just noticed they have the same model for auction, starting at $200, The same auction house but a different town. Their descriptions are deceptive, avoid

Bianco stones are not CVD or HPHT lab grown diamonds.
Bianco stones are not CVD or HPHT lab-grown diamonds. Whatever these are they do do not test as a lab-grown diamond, natural diamond, moissanite or cubic zirconia. Whatever these stones are, they are cheaply made and do not compare to a simulant or lab-created diamond. The description in the auction listing is not clear what the stone's origins are. BEWARE! The auctioneer told me they were CVD diamonds. They are not.

This is a FRAUDULENT COMPANY!
Won the bid for a nice object, paid directly including already quite significant shipment fees (US $210). Then nothing happened and the FRAUD SCHEME started. For months Connoisseurs Online kept the goods, despite numerous emails and some interference by LiveAuctioneers. Connoisseurs Online then reacted once, asking for even additional shipment fees of even 7x the amount I already paid (US $1.400), being 150 % of the bidding price for the item itself. They cashed the bidding money and try only to get even more in stalling the shipment, not responding, and asking double for ludicrous shipment fees, and then still keep the item I bought. It's PURE FRAUD, set up deliberately. LiveAuctioneers should ban this seller from their website and warn people for their fraudulent practices.

Damaged goods
Connoisseur promised receipt of the painting in 3-4 weeks after payment. Payment was made 2 days after auction. The damaged painting was received 7 weeks later. The picture online shows the frame in perfect shape, yet upon receipt, all four corners of the frame have been separated due to impact and the frame is chipped. The packing is inadequate at best, totally inappropriate at worst. A flattened Office Depot box was used to hold the painting with no inner protection. I have taken pictures of the box received plus the painting. If you have this auction house ship something to you, beware, they are incompetent.

Shipping Price Jacking
This auction house jacked the price by over 30 % for "shipping costs" charging over $150 for $25 in cardboard and US postal service shipping. They also attempted to bill me for an item which was "passed" and which I did not bid on. They have unusual hours and poor responsiveness. Recommend to stay away from these people-you have to watch every step of the way with them.

Consistency
Over time, I have found them very good about shipping in a timely manner, and bidding is not bidded up by themselves, where you don’t know where or why some prices escalate at unreasonable fastness.
