Item was damaged. Auctioneer made excuses. Refund is 19 days late as of today.
This lot was purchased in pristine condition without damage or defect. When the shipping company arrived to pick it up they noticed damage to the front of the vending machine. This was brought to the auctioneers ’ immediate attention on 6/9 via email, a phone call and on Live Auctioneers. On 7/2 Morphy’s confirmed that a refund would be “issued promptly”. As of today, 7/21 we still have not received a refund. Murphy’s response to the damage was to shift blame that the shipper caused the damage, which never should have been in dispute as geotagged and time stamped photos confirmed the item was in their warehouse at the time it was brought to their attention. Daniel, a Morphy employee, was even present at the time the shipper arrived on-site. After a complete breakdown in communications I emailed the owner Dan Morphy on 6/17 “My client paid a buyer’s premium to expect the highest levels of customer service and my messaging to (Morphy Auctions) on this has been ignored. "Reasonably customers understand that accidents happen and people make mistakes. When problems arise they want to know how the issue will be fixed/repaired. What they do not want to hear are excuses. And no customer wants to be left with the feeling they are being ignored, which is what has occurred and is the justification for this unsatisfactory review associated with this purchase and first-hand experience with the auctioneer.

Shipping is very easy; payment, not so much (requires a wire transfer)
Dan Morphy presents quality offerings, and this auction was exceptional with the number of rare offerings. I was lucky to be successful with an opening bid (not so lucky in the past as there are many people out there with more money to spend than me). The auction house processed everything very efficiently. I do wish I could have simply paid with a credit card, as arranging for a wire transfer is time consuming and expensive. They aren't the only ones who require this, and I'm sure there is a reason, but credit cards are so much easier to use. But they did arrange shipping for me, and that is helpful (I much prefer in-house shipping and sometimes don't bid on items at places that don't offer it). My fragile item arrived very safely, and I'm quite pleased with it, especially since they said it worked, and indeed it did (a pocket watch).

Unforgiving if you make a mistake.
I accidently hit the bid button when my pointer moved over. I reported it while the item was still closing through the feedback button but this was the online platform not the auction house directly so I was unable to withdraw my mistaken bid in real time. When the platform did later report to the auction house they still refused to cancel my bid. The amount was over $4000 and I am retired so this was a major problem for me. The auction house did not care if I was damaged and acted like the big corporation they have become referring me to the fine print. This is not a people oriented enterprise beware.

Bad angle images and description
I won an item from Morphy. Payment went smoothly. Shipping and packing went well. Then I received the item and opened the package. All went in the trash. Several issues with the item that were not visible on-line and were misrepresented in the description. I sent and email to them concerning the problem and after a month have received NO RESPONSE. Second time this has happened with Morphy. Never bid with them on-line.

HIGH auction premiums are ruining auction biz
just an fyi: when the premiums reach 30 % im out. Greed is usually the usual suspect in ending good endeavours. When Bezos turns on your industry... you'll be done.

Handling charge was $80.
I can understand the need for a 'handling charge' But $80 to move an three pound item... Shipping couldn't have been better, well packed!

Easy buying process, extremely fast and reasonable shipping
I bought an antique revolver at the 3-day firearms auction. I received an email with an invoice on the next day after the auction, which I easily paid online. I received an email with the tracking number within a few hours. I was completely surprised when I got an email from FedEx the next day (a Friday) showing it would be delivered Sunday. Sunday I received a generously large box (well packed with peanuts and the little revolver was wrapped in foam), with a cardboard envelope containing the factory letter as advertised. $22 packed and shipped was an absolute bargain, and it was shipped fast. The pistol was in better condition than advertised. I cannot wait until next years auction, I will be bidding on more items

Slow Shipping
Although technically within their 7 to 14 BUSINESS day shipping policy, the delay was really unwarranted. That is my ONLY compliant about this transaction.
