Day #3: Prints & Drawings 16th-21st Century
The third session of our November auction consists of about 400 lots of prints and drawings from XVI to XXI century.
Amongst Old Masters we would like to highlight some names such as Dürer, Goltzius, Andreani ecc., or some famous views like those by Lafréry, Zocchi and Piranesi, or the complete vertical series of the "Proverbi" engraved by Lasinio on Piattoli's drawings.
The Circumcision stands out among a group of Old Master drawings: it has a great historical relevance since it is an unknown evidence of a lost painting by Ludovico Carracci.
The XIX century will be represented by artists such as Fattori, Fortuny, Sartorio and by a wide selection of mitteleuropean graphics (Klinger, Lipinsky, Kollwitz and an interesting group of Symbolist ex libris).
The XX century is represented by Barbier, Zecchin, Sacchetti in addition to the most famous Italian etchers and xylographers of the first half of the century.
