Feine Patronatsikone Russland, 18. Jh. (Ikone), Russland, um 1840 (Basma) Nadelholz-Einzeltafel mit zwei Rückseiten-Sponki. Kowtscheg, Lewkas, Eitempera, partielle Vergoldung. Axialsymmetrische Komposition. In der vertikalen Bildachse die ganzfigurige Darstellung des Erzengels Michael zu beiden Seiten wird er von je zwei Heiligen flankiert: heiliger Paisij, heiliger Zosima und Sawatii sowie der heiligen Ewgenia. Hintergrund freigelegt. Vergoldetes Messingbasma flächenfüllend mit Rankenwerk graviert. Min. rest. 32,6 x 27 cm Darstellung elegant gelängter Figuren mit Gewändern vornehmlich in Rot und Grün mit teils vegetabiler Ornamentierung in Assistgold.

A selection of fovourite saints. Egg tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Archangel Michael in a cuirass and red cape flanked by Sts. Paisi, Zosima and Savatii and St. Efgenia. The entire composition rendered in great detail. Their garments painted with complimentary red and green, the folds and haloes rendered in gold. The gilt basma with incised folite scrolls. Background stripped to gesso. Minimally restored. Russian, 18th century (icon), Russian, circa 1840 (basma). 32.6 x 27 cm.
