Description
A Japanese peach bloom glaze vase by Makuzu Kozan. Kozan (b. 1842, d. 1916) was a Japanese ceramist appointed to the imperial household as one of the major potters of the Meiji period. The body of the vase depicts a praying mantis and crickets among flowers. The bottom of the vase is signed.
Dimensions are: 9 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 22.86 cm X 11.43 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good condition.
Provenance: From a private collection in Connecticut.
