Serial: 12221 Manufacturer: Smith & Wesson (c.1872) Model: 3 American Second Model Standard Caliber: .44 S&W Barrel length: 8"
Condition: Fair; wood grips have been crudely checkered w/ light handling marks; barrel & frame have turned a gray patina w/ some blue remaining on trigger guard & some brown patina on grip frame; handling marks & pitting throughout; hairline crack on left side of frame screw behind the cylinder housing; bore is fairly bright for age w/ scattered pitting; mechanically excellent
Includes: framed Smith & Wesson letter indicating it was sold August 15th, 1872 & shipped to M.W. Robinson, NY (S&W's largest distributor)
