Hill & Adamson (Scotland, fl. 1840-1850), Group of Three Newhaven Fishermen, Calotype, c. 1845, calotype by David Octavius Hill (Scottish, 1802Ð1870) and Robert Adamson (Scottish, 1821Ð1848), depicting three fishermen Alexander Rutherford, William Ramsay and John Liston standing side by side, with pen inscription 'photo by D. O. Hill' on verso, mounted.Reference: A copy of this same image can be found in the collections of the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
Measurements: Height: overall 7 1/2 in. x Width: 5 3/4 in.
Condition
Overall good vintage condition, toning to paper, image faded, wear to edges, creases in corners, diagonal crease from top left corner to mid right side, small creases bottom ended and lower left edge, photo possibly trimmed, photo fully mounted.
