Inscribed on the front free endpaper, "Gen.l G.T. Beauregard with compliments of the Author, May 1891". The author in question was formerly a Confederate Major-General before his return to the United States. His recipient, General Beauregard, is most famous for the military action which formally began the Civil War with an attack on the U.S. Army at Fort Sumter.

Condition

Wrappers worn, with light soiling and some chipping, marginal chipping to preliminary leaves, very good.
