Pale bisque with flat-cut socket head designed to accommodate the paper mache dowel that protrudes from the neck of the torso and allows the head to swivel, rounded facial shape with almond-shaped blue paperweight eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, widely,-arched and feathered brows, closed mouth shaded and accented lips, pierced ears, blonde lambs wool wig, original pate, original composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists and flat-cut derriere, lovely white organdy and blue cotton frock with lace trim, antique dark leather French shoes. Commentary: Circa 1878, earliest model of the Schmitt bisque bebe with rarely found articulation system; a most beautiful example with plump sculpting and delicate pale bisque, dramatic eyes, excellent original body and body finish.
