Item Details
Description
This beautiful 1974 Telecaster Bass is not one you see very often. Guitar is 100% original, no modifications. SERIAL NUMBER: 400681. COLOR: Blonde See Through Finish. WEIGHT: 9lbs 12ozs (4kg/420g). This Tele Bass is in very good vintage condition, interestingly the serial number stamped on the neck plate would denote that this is a 1973 Telecaster Bass, but the stamp codes on the pot, pickup and neck butt all indicate this was made in 1974. The Blonde finished body has turned into a stunningly beautiful Butterscotch see through finish which has yellowed in its 48-year-old history, check out underneath the pickguard, and compare. There are some natural rubbing marks in a couple areas, some scratching and tiny dings which adds to the vintage reliced charm. The chrome hardware and screws have some lovely patina. One pot code is stamped 1377409 denoting the CTS Co. dated the 9th week of 1974. The other is unreadable due to solder. The pickup is stamped 204074 denoting this was made in 1974. The original pickguard suffered several breaks which is included with the guitar. The collector decided to replace the pickguard with a black single ply pickguard that blends with the now butterscotch see through finish exquisitely, giving it a somewhat Blackguard feel. The neck is a beautiful maple neck, some scratches, and small dings, however very minimal. The neck has a 7.25 radius, medium D shape profile, nice and smooth. There is a little bit of fretware, plenty of life left. Stamped code at the neck but reads 0300 3814. Tuners have some nice patina. Only beautiful tones coming out of this vintage Tele Bass. Bass come with its original case in very good vintage condition. This guitar would make a great addition to any collection, shop, or home.
