Item Details
Description
1957 Fender Telecaster Relic, John English Masterbuilt. SERIAL NUMBER: R3957. COLOR: Celadon Green Nitrocellulose Finish. WEIGHT: 7lbs (3kg/170g). This beautiful reliced 1957 Telecaster was made by the late John English in 2005. John was one of Fender’s finest and most famous Master Builders. This guitar was presented and shown at the NAMM show in 2005 (as shown on the Fender NAMM sheet included with this guitar). The present collector purchased this guitar new from a Fender Dealer in 2005. It is in unplayed condition, original strings still on the guitar, hence we are not taking this guitar apart. This is one of the lightest Tele’s we have ever came across, an even 7lbs. Matching pot codes read “CTS 0417”. John’s ideas and attention to detail is magnificent. The concept to take a rare color, Celadon Green for the 2-piece ash body and to match it with a gold anodized pickguard is outstanding. Light relicing to the pickguard. The relicing on the body shows chips, dings, scratches, and exquisite crazy checking. All the chrome hardware and screws have some genuinely nice patina. John was gentle to the neck though. We can only find a few tiny marks and the relicing on the tuners, bushings, screws, and string tree. Beautiful maple neck has a radius of 7.25, nice and beefy D shaped. Notice Johns personal decal on the back of the headstock. Included with this guitar is the original case and keys in excellent condition, blue film is still on the latches. Certificate of Authenticity dated 01/12/05 and personally signed by John English, guitar strap, reliced ashtray cover, unopened case candy to include cable, manual, another ashtray cover (most likely in new condition) polishing cloth, and Custom Shop sticker. A truly rare guitar made by one of Fenders best. The collector loved guitars made by John, so the next two listings are John English guitars as well. Made in USA. As always please see all photos for more detail. All items are looked over but not inspected further than with the naked eye.
