Born in Santa Cruz; buried in Santuario de Chimayo. Frequently called the Truchas Master; considered by many to be the first native-born santero. Did work in Trampas, Truchas, Chamita, Santa Cruz, Nambe and Rosario Chapel in Santa Fe (1785-1831).
