Description
silk, chenille, pencil, and watercolor on silk, depicting a shepherdess in a fine dress with painted head and hands, sitting under a tree with a staff and a basket to her proper left and a group of sheep to her proper right, background featuring a landscape with water, buildings, and trees. Housed under glass in a 19th century molded gilt frame with eglomise mat. First half 19th century. 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" sight, 16" x 18 3/8" OA.

Condition
Fair to good visual condition with toning, some tears to silk, thread with fading/fugitive color, frame with some wear, probably re-gilded, some flakes and chips to molding. Not examined out of frame.
