Description

A small George III walnut longcase clock A small George III walnut longcase clock, dated 1814, by Samuel Denton of Oxford, the domed hood enclosing a brass movement with a silvered chapter ring inscribed with Roman numerals, above a long door and plinth base on bracket feet, 32cm wide 22cm deep 152cm high Condition Report: Later blocks added to the back feet, so it currently leans forward a little. Split to the base of the case and in need of re-gluing. Further splits, chips, knocks and losses to case. Areas of repair and restoration to case. The dial cleaned. Winding and door keys present. The movement appears to have had professional attention in the last 20 years. We are unable to guarantee the working order of the movement and suggest inspection by a professional.
