Description
Civil war letter written by colonel John E. McMahon of the 164th New York Volunteers. Letterhead states Headquarters Buffalo Irish Regiment. Addressed to General C.A. Arthur (future president. Letter dated August 31st, 1862. Letter comes with history of regiment, history of Colonel McMahon, and brief synopsis of contents. Dimensions: (Letter) H 10" x W 8" Condition: Paper fairly clean, clear handwriting. Folds.
