In one binder, most with typed or handwritten full or partial transcriptions, some with written content narratives or comments, one letter with cross-hatching, some soldier research, many with colorful patriotic letterhead including "We are Marching Along" song sheet, together with a gold rush letter dated 1851, other Americana letters referencing politics, making money, etc., 3 old photos including a GAR gent and 2 of 'John Decker?s House, Livingston Manor, NY'.
The letters in varying sizes, some in multiple pages, 2 accompanied by their original transmittal cover, varied subject matter, binder measures 12.5x10in., in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.
Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
