In 2 binders, including approx. 15 civil war letters (some with battle content), a few Mexican war letters, and general Americana letters regarding politics, religion, family, business, land purchases, travel, organizations, education, etc., some as early as 1795 (talking about the approaching session of congress), together with a handwritten valentine poem, 5 confederate documents including 2 discharges and 3 pay vouchers, a handwritten 1864 union bounty request, several post war bounty documents, an 1868 document seeking the formation of a NY Calvary company, a lost 'Breitling' pocket watch document, 10 unaccompanied covers (5 unused), a handwritten general order, and a GAR Rules & Regulation booklet dated 1869.

The letters in varying sizes, some in multiple pages, varied subject matter, binders measure 12.5x10in., in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.

Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
