Description
The stone face is finely carved in the old traditional manner. The doll is wearing seal skin clothing that is completely hand-sewn with very tiny stitches. The pants and turquoise edging are cloth, probably cotton. The tops of the mukluks and the black and white cord that ties the hood are wool. A fine addition to any collection of Native American dolls. From a California ethnographic collection.
The doll does not stand on its own and was propped up for the photos.
