BRITISH / STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED ANIMAL MOTIF CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF FIVE, each having brown/sepia transfer scene with most having printed title to back, comprising two with "GIRAFFE", one depicting "HANNIBAL Passing the Alps" #3, one featuring "RAJAH" depicting elephants including one pulling a stylized carriage, and with Burmese scene depicting a romantic scene with elephant, boat, and mountains. Additional marks include impressed "G", "X", James Jamison & Co., Bo'ness, Scotland; John Ridgway, Hanley; Knight, Elkin & Co., Fenton; Mellor, Venables & Co., Burslem, England. Second quarter 19th century. 8 7/8" to 10 1/4" D.
