STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED ROMANTIC MOTIF CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF NINE, each having brown/sepia transfer scene with most having printed title to back, comprising "VIRGINIA" #1, "Solar Rays", "BELZONI.", "VANDYKE", "Mogul / Scenery" #5, "Sicilian" #1, "Grecian / Scenery" #4, Oriental Scenery #1, and India #1. Additional marks include impressed "T. MAYER / STOKE", "Q", "11", and star. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem; Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge; Thomas Mayer, Longport/Stoke-upon-Trent; Minton, Stoke-on-Trent; Edward & George Phillips, Longport; Samuel Alcock & Co., Cobridge/Burslem; William Adams IV & Son, Stoke, England. Second quarter 19th century. 8 7/8" to 10 1/4" D.

Seven undamaged, except "Virginia" having some crazing with light discoloration and some with light, minor short scattered scratches; "Grecian Scenery" having a minor flake to rim; "Mogul Scenery" having two hairlines and some crazing with light discoloration.
