Description
Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan culture, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. A hand-built and highly burnished brownware pottery jar of cylindrical form with thin walls and a planar base that rest atop a trio of nubbin feet. Incised on each side of the body is a large, ovoid emblem with a segmented border surrounding a large pseudo-glyph that perhaps represents a serpent. Size: 4.7" W x 4.9" H (11.9 cm x 12.4 cm)

Condition
Minor abrasions, with nicks to rim, walls, and feet, softening to some incised decorations, light encrustations, and fading to brown pigment in scattered areas, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remains of brown pigment throughout.
