Native American, North America, Southwestern New Mexico, Southeast Arizona, and Northern Chihuahua region of Mexico, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), Mogollon-Mimbres tradition, ca. 1000 to 1300 CE. A pottery pitched shaped vessel constructed via a modified coil-and-scrape technique and a highly textured corrugated surface around the neck. The impressions are evenly and pronounced, formed into triangular shapes which may have aided in gripping the surface when wet. Women are thought to be the makers of pottery in this tradition, and women have been found in burials accompanied by pottery making tools, and vessels similar to this one have been found in the Starkweather Ruin in New Mexico. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 7" H (14 cm x 17.8 cm)

Condition
Repaired and restored from many pieces. Restoration with new material and infill along break lines. Approximately 70 or more original material. Fissures are visible on exterior and interior with a few areas of adhesive residue. Nice preservation to overall form and corrugation.
