Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Central eastern Arizona, Anasazi / Ancestral Puebloan, Greater Mogollon, Greater Salado, Upper Gila (Highland Salado), ca. 1250 to 1350 CE. A hand-built potter bowl exhibiting a russet-hued exterior and an elaborate black-on-white motif within the deep basin. The white-ground interior surface displays a large pair of serrated triangles in the center, each facing with points on opposite sides of the wall, that are surrounded by dense steps, bands, and stripe-filled patterns. Size: 7.80" Diameter x 3.875" H (19.8 cm x 9.8 cm)

Condition
Professional repair and restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and light fading to original pigment, with scattered pitting, and minor craquelure, otherwise in nice condition. Great preservation of motifs within basin. Previous inventory label beneath base.
