Description
STAMPED "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG / VIRGINIA.", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "3" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with squared rim and incised shoulder ring. Brushed cobalt horizontal foliate seven-leaf design repeated four times to shoulder. The pottery of James M. Hickerson (1833-1902), Strasburg, VA. 1875-1890. 10" H, 7 1/2" D rim.

Condition
Very good condition, having a chip and two flakes to rim, a chip to foot edge, and some minor flakes/chips to handles.
