Rare first US contract sword by Nathan Starr. Cavalry saber with slight curved 33 7/8" blade well marked " P, L S., N. Starr, US." at ricasso. P form knuckle guard, black lacquer wood grip. Japanned black metal scabbard. Overall 39" long in scabbard. Condition: Wear to lacquer grip, wear to japanned finish on scabbard, blade has been professionally cleaned.
