Description

Vintage c1930s Ruby McKim pattern Bird Life or Audubon Comfort Quilt measuring 75 by 81 inches. It is comprised of 49 squares, 8 by 8 inches, set straight, 7 by 7 with 24 hand embroidered blocks featuring a variety of birds, and alternating pink solid squares. There is a 3 inch pink solid inner border, and a 6 inch white solid outer vertical borders and 9 inch horizontal borders. There is no batting, but there is an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by machine (actually the borders!). It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand tied in pink embroidery floss. It is in good condition with a few discolorations. This is a very collectible and rare pattern to come up for auction. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
