[16], 606, [6]. Antiporta firmata M. Ogier che raffigura Vesalius e Spigelius su piedistalli posti all'ingresso di un teatro anatomico. Marca tipografica calcografica al frontespizio stampato in rosso e nero. Iniziali e fregi xilografici. 13 tavole ripiegate incise in rame. Moltissime annotazioni manoscritte a corredo del testo. Aloni d’umidità alle prime carte, fori di tarlo al margine di alcune pagine. Prima edizione di Lione di questo studio completo illustrato di anatomia contenente molte informazioni originali. Le 10 sezioni trattano la parte inferiore del busto, il torace, la testa, gli arti, i muscoli, le membrane e le fibre, le arterie, le vene, i nervi, le ossa, le cartilagini e i legamenti. L'opera include interessanti osservazioni sul picacismo, ovvero un disturbo del comportamento alimentare caratterizzato dall'ingestione continuata nel tempo di sostanze non nutritive come terra, carbone e pietre, sui motivi per cui gli eunuchi e gli animali castrati diventano grassi e sui resoconti sulla sopravvivenza di bambini nati presumibilmente dopo soli cinque mesi di gestazione.

First Lyon edition of this illustrated complete study of anatomy containing much original information. The 10 sections cover the lower torso, chest, head, limbs, muscles, membranes and fibers, arteries, veins, nerves, bones, cartilage and ligaments.The work includes interesting observations on pica, which is an eating disorder characterized by the continued ingestion of non-nutritive substances such as earth, coal and stones, on the reasons why eunuchs and castrated animals become fat and on reports on survival of children presumably born after only five months of gestation. The plates show a variety of dissections taken from drawings by Ruysch, de Graaf, Paulli and Willis.
