Description

St. Marys, Ontario. 1904-1909. Earthenware. Rare. Made by the Huron Pottery in Egmondville. Frederick Sharp operated his liquor store in St. Marys for a very brief 5-year period, beginning in 1904 until 1909. Ex-Wine collection. Incised, in hand-written script (sgraffito) "F S Sharp / Liquor Dealer / St Marys / Ontario". 9.5" x 6" Dia. From the Late Mike O'Hara Collection.

Condition

Professional repair to a 1-inch spout chip on the left side. Hairline running from base at the back up to midline of the body and arches back down to base. Various small chips, mainly along the base. Areas of glaze loss/flaking to body and handle.
